The Thessaloniki Concert Hall (tch.gr) is paying tribute to the championed Georgian composer Giya Kancheli (1935-2019), described by Rodion Shchedrin as "an ascetic with the temperament of a maximalist - a restrained Vesuvius." The performances from the Opera of the Peaks festival this year were watched by over 3,000 spectators, despite the necessary restrictions on seats due to security measures. This was announced by the organizers of the Sofia Opera.
