Just three new coronavirus infections reported; deaths rise to 168
New infections with the novel coronavirus inched up to 2,853 in Greece on Thursday after just three new cases were confirmed, while two new fatalities took the total death toll to 168.
In his regular evening update, Health Ministry adviser and spokesman Sotiris Tsiodras said that 21 patients remain intubated and 98 have been discharged from intensive care.
No new deaths, four new coronavirus infections confirmed
Greek health authorities announced on Tuesday four new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the total nationwide to 2,840.
No fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours, Health Ministry representative Sotiris Tsiodras said in his daily press briefing, keeping the death toll at 165. The median age of the victims was 75.

Greek Health Ministry representative Sotiris Tsiodras on Monday announced 2 new cases of coronavirus infections in the country, bringing the total nationwide to 2,836.
Two infected patients died in the past 24 hours, Tsiodras said in a press release, pushing the death toll to 165.

Clashes erupt at Larissa Roma camp
Clashes erupted outside a Roma settlement in Nea Smyrni, Larissa, central Greece, on Friday, when residents set fires to prevent the transfer of 35 people who had tested positive for the coronavirus to a facility where they will be quarantined for 14 days.

Four new Covid-19 deaths, 40 new cases
Greek Health Ministry representative Sotiris Tsiodras on Friday announced 40 new cases or coronavirus infections in the country which raise the total number to 2,810.
The number includes 35 new infections from a Roma camp in central Greece.
He said the death toll from Covid-19 rose to 160, with four more fatalities recorded in the past 24 hours.

One more Covid-19 death takes toll to 156, as 10 new infections reported
Health Ministry adviser Sotiris Tsiodras said one more fatality brought Greece's coronavirus death toll inched to 156 on Thursday and 10 new confirmed infections have resulted in the total number of cases recorded in the country coming to 2,770.
He added that 24 Covid-19 patients remain intubated at the country's hospitals and 90 have been discharged from intensive care.
Greek coronavirus infections rise to 2,744, one new death
Health Ministry adviser Sotiris Tsiodras on Tuesday said the number of Greece's Covid-19 infections reached 2,744 in the past 24 hours, as 18 more people were confirmed.
Tsiodras added that one more patient died, bringing the total number to 152. He said the median age of victims was 75.
Ministry aims for more ICU beds at ESY hospitals
The Health Ministry has appointed a scientific committee to oversee the acquisition of new intensive care unit beds for the National Health System (ESY), with the aim that Greece reaches the European average of 12 beds per 100,000 citizens.

Total Covid-19 infections reach 2,678, as deaths inch up to 148
Greece's Covid-19 death toll inched up by one on Thursday to reach a total of 148 since the start of the outbreak, Health Ministry adviser Sotiris Tsiodras said in Thursday's regular update.
Greece's latest Covid-19 victim was a 76-year-old man with underlying health problems who was being treated at the NIMTS navy hospital in Athens.
