Clinic with 37 Covid-19 cases to be probed

Muslims in Greece urged to pray at home during Ramadan
Greek Deputy Civil Protection Minister Nikos Hardalias on Friday called on Muslim citizens celebrating Ramadan to pray at home, as part of the efforts to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Speaking at the daily press briefing, he reiterated that mosques will hold prayer services during the religious month without public attendance.

Coronavirus cases rise to 2,463 with death toll edging up to 125
Greek Health Ministry representative Sotiris Tsiodras on Thursday announced 55 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total nationwide to 2,463.
Another four infected people died, Tsiodras said, pushing the death toll 125 (average age 74).
The number of coronavirus patients treated in Intensive Care Units (ICU) stands at 52, he said, adding that 57 people have left ICU.

About 30 new coronavirus cases were reported at a private clinic in Peristeri in western Athens on Thursday.
Tests were conducted after a patient came down with symptoms similar to coronavirus.

Greek PM wants to expedite lifting of measures
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has sent out a clear message that the plan to gradually lift restrictions to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic should unfold just as swiftly as they were imposed.
Apart from April 27, when courts and registries will open, the most likely starting date for the opening of small commercial shops such as hairdressers is May 4.

Two new deaths from coronavirus reported
Greek media reported two more deaths from the novel coronavirus on Thursday, a day after when the country's authorities reported there were no fatalities in the previous 24 hours.
The new death toll stands at 123, one of the lowest in Europe. The new fatalities have not been officially confirmed yet.

Coronavirus cases rise to 2,408 though no new deaths reported
Greek Health Ministry representative Sotiris Tsiodras on Wednesday announced seven new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 2,408, adding that there were no new deaths over the past 24 hours, so the death toll remains at 121.
A total of 55 coronavirus patients are intubated, with an average age of 67, and 51 have left intensive care, he said.
