Greek police find second safe house used by bank robbers

Police are hoping that the discovery of a second safe house near Volos, central Greece, used by two bank robbers caught on Friday, may provide clues regarding the whereabouts of other wanted criminals with links to urban guerrilla groups, such as Giorgos Petrakakos, Marios Seisidis and even infamous fugitive Vassilis Palaiocostas.

Weapons found at house used by bank robbers fail to provide clues

The weapons recovered during a police raid to arrest three bank robbers near Volos, central Greece, have not been used in criminal or terrorist activities, authorities said on Monday.

Spyros Christodoulou and Giorgios Tsironis were arrested during the raid but Spyros Dravilas was found dead. Police suspect he killed himself to avoid being caught.

Maziotis aide linked to Trikala heist

Police have have redoubled their efforts to trace Spyros Dravilas, a 34-year-old being sought in connection with armed robberies involving jailed Revolutionary Struggle leader Nikos Maziotis, after an investigation pointed to Dravilas?s involvement in a heist last Thursday on a bank branch in the small town of Farkadona, near Trikala, central Greece.
