A Serbian journalist who publicly confronted President Aleksandar Vucic with allegations of government corruption has found himself the target of a storm of criticism by presidential aides, allies and pro-government media after Vucic was hospitalised with heart problems hours after their exchange.

The front page, that features an image of a growling dog and the heading, "The Hounds Are Unleashed," has caused President Vucic's media adviser Suzana Vasiljevic to resign from the supervisory board of Politika AD, the publisher of the weekly.

It featured the picture of a growling dog and covers of certain domestic printed media and the heading "The Hounds Are Unleashed," Beta agency reported.

The Serbian Information Ministry's draft media strategy, which was criticised by media and journalists' associations before it was discarded this week, controversially proposed establishing new state-run media through public-private partnerships.

BRUSSELS - Following a letter from President Aleksandar Vucic's media adviser Suzana Vasiljevic, the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) has requested that its upcoming visit to Belgrade also include a meeting with Vucic, Tanjug learns.
