The ancient city of Jethro in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa doesn't get as much as attention as nearby Harran, but locals and visitors are hoping that will soon change.

Visitors to the ancient site of Harran in Southeast Anatolia now have the chance to participate in excavations on one of the oldest sites in human history.

Kilims and ceramic trinkets produced by Turkish and Syrian women who attend courses in the Family Support Center in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa's Harran district are now being sold in Europe, providing income to locals. 

Products inspired by Amazon queens in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa's Harran district are helping Turkish and Syrian women in the area provide themselves with an income.

In the Harran Municipality's family support center, disadvantaged women between the ages of 16 and 45 have been taking courses on felt, wood, toys, carpets and ceramics for 10 months. 

A new road project has been launched to promote tourism in the ancient city of ?uayb near the border with Syria in ?anl?urfa. 

Resembling the ancient city of Ephesus on the Aegean, ?uayb is considered one of the most important historical places in the province.
