For six years in a row at the Sofia Film Festival we have the honor and pleasure of presenting the special FIPRESCI Platinum 90 Award, provided by the International Federation of Film Critics.

The German movie "Zhaleika" directed by Bulgarian Eliza Petkova won the grand prix award for best film in the international competition of the Sofia International Film Festival.

The winner was announced at the award ceremony which took place in hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in the Bulgarian capital on Saturday.

The 20th edition of Sofia International Film Festival begins on Thursday with the screening of the new Bulgarian movie "The prosecutor, the defender, the father and his son" in hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia.

Sofia International Film Festival, one of the most important film forums in Central and Eastern Europe, will have its 20th edition from March 10 to March 31.

British comedian Terry Jones will attend this year's Sofia International Film Festival, starting March 5 in Bulgaria's capital Sofia.

Over the course of the past 19 years, the audience of the festival has had the opportunity to get to know better not only the Monty Python movies, but also the creative teams behind the scenes.
