Greek officials are closely watching the Turkish presidential and parliamentary elections, but seem resigned to the fact that the neighboring country's policy includes expansionist claims in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean and the questioning of Greece's sovereignty over many of its Aegean islands, as well as the islands' themselves possessing a continental shelf.

Planning at a both European and a bilateral, as well as at a national level, so as to protect the borders and avoid a new humanitarian crisis was put in place during the Government National Security Council (KYSEA), chaired by the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

European politics Professor George Pagoulatos has been named the new director general of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), replacing Dr Thanos Dokos, who was appointed deputy national security adviser to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the think-tank said on Friday.

Thanos Dokos, director-general at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), has been appointed as the alternate adviser on national defense to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, according to a decision made public Thursday.
