Turkey's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) reached its highest level last month since November 2014, rising to 52.2 due to a sharp rise in new manufacturing and export orders, the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (?SO) said in a written statement. 

Last week?s data exposed the economy?s ?trio of challenges.? For one thing, Markit?s purchasing managers? index (PMI), which was released on September 1, fell below the critical 50 threshold in August, ?signaling an overall deterioration in business conditions at Turkish manufacturers.?

The purchasing manager index of Turkey, seen as a gauge for the economic health of the manufacturing sector, declined below a critical level in June, data from Markit Economics indicated on July 1.

The PMI index slipped below 50 points on July 1, showing a contraction in the manufacturing sector.

The Turkish manufacturing sector remained in a downturn in April, for the fourth consecutive month, according to PMI survey data from HSBC.
