Ministers Agree to Boost Bulgaria-Israel Security Cooperation

Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetlin Yovchev and Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman have highlighted security as an essential aspect of bilateral cooperation.

Liberman is on a visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of Yovchev from November 2013, according to the press office of Bulgaria's Interior Ministry.

61 Illegal Immigrants Apprehended At Bulgaria's “Green” Border

Sixty-one illegal immigrants were apprehended at Bulgaria's “green” border with Turkey in the last 24 hours, Interior Ministry said. 

They are taken to the primary holding centers and are receiving medical attention. Later they will be processed in accordance with the legal requirements. 

Cecilia Malmstrom to Attend Bulgaria's Conference on EU Asylum System

EU Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom will be visiting Bulgaria on 24-25 March, with regards to the refugee situation in the country.

EU Commissioner Malmstrom will participate in a conference "The Common European Asylum System: Challenges and perspectives", Monday.

Bulgaria, US Drug Enforcement Administration to Discuss Joint Teams

Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetlin Yovchev has backed the proposal of Drug Enforcement Administration deputy chief Thomas Harrigan to discuss creating special joint teams.

Harrigan and Yovchev met Wednesday as part of a working visit of the Bulgarian delegation to the US, according to the press office of the Interior Ministry.
