Trade Minister Ömer Bolat discussed bilateral trade with his Saudi counterpart, Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi., in Jaipur, India, on the sidelines of a meeting of trade ministers of G20 nations, according to a statement from the Turkish Trade Ministry.

A new period of dialogue has begun between Türkiye and the European Union on trade, the Trade Ministry has said, following a virtual meeting with Trade Minister Ömer Bolat and Valdis Dombrovskis, the vice president of the European Commission.

Bulgaria is making efforts to be ready to accept the euro no later than January 1, 2025.

The Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, announced that an agreement had been reached with Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia on the import of certain Ukrainian foods, which the five member countries had vetoed.

Romania will not unilaterally ban grain imports from Ukraine and will wait for the European Commission to implement measures to help farmers from Central and Eastern Europe, said today Romanian Agriculture Minister Petre Daea, quoted by Reuters.

The European Commission will provide 100 million euros to help farmers in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, who suffered most seriously from increased imports of grain and other agricultural products from Ukraine. This was said by a spokesperson of the European Commission

Oil fell in early European trading by nearly 2% amid fears of a global economic slowdown and even the risk of an impending recession, which would worsen the outlook for demand for the important energy raw material.

Today, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had an online meeting with the Executive Vice President of the European Commission and Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis.

The Prime Minister had a meeting with Mr. Dombrovskis at 11.00 at the Maximos Mansion, while an online meeting will follow at the Ministry of Finance with the Minister Christos Staikouras.
