Turkish Defense Minister insists on two-state solution for Cyprus

Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler addressed the Cyprus issue during a Monday meeting with senior military officials.

"We continue our efforts to ensure that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus receives its due position on the international stage," Guler said, emphasizing that Turkey's support for a two-state solution will persist and grow.

Defense minister meets Ukrainian counterpart in Ankara

 Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler on Friday met with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov in capital Ankara.

Güler welcomed Umerov with a military ceremony, according to a statement by the Turkish National Defense Ministry.

After the ceremony, Güler and Umerov held a meeting at the ministry building.

A Turkish soldier has been killed in northern Iraq during a conflict with members of a "separatist terrorist organization," the Defense Ministry announced on June 21.

Infantry petty sergeant Mehmet Ali Horoz died during a confrontation on June 21 in Türkiye's Claw-Lock operation region amid a search activity, the ministry said in a statement.
