A team of divers has uncovered an 1,100-year-old Byzantine amphora during an exploratory dive off Istanbul's Tuzla district.

A municipal police officer who shot a district mayor in the northwestern province of Bursa was arrested late May 24, state-run Anadolu Agency reported. 

The police officer, identified as F.B., shot Cüneyt Y?ld?z, the mayor of the Gürsu district of Bursa, along with his security guard, Yener ?im?ek, on May 20. 

The municipal police officer who shot a district mayor in the western province of Bursa surrendered to police late May 23 in the central Anatolian city of Yozgat.
