Russia launched an attack on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Sunday, striking residential buildings and injuring 14 people. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared the news in a post on "X", stating that rubble clearance continued throughout the day and that two people were rescued from the debris.

Amidst the ongoing war, Ukraine has made a bold diplomatic move by appointing its former commander-in-chief, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, as the new ambassador to the United Kingdom. The decision comes a month after Zaluzhnyi was removed from his role as the nation's top military commander, reported Al Jazeera.

TIRANA - After attending a plenary meeting at a Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit in Tirana, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday that, at Serbia's request, a declaration to be adopted at the summit made no mention of sanctions against Russia or of its "malignant" influence.

The Bulgarian Government has greenlit the draft Kyiv Declaration on the environment, a pivotal step in supporting efforts led by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's peace plan. Russia is taking an awfully long time to invade Ukraine. It may happen any day. President Joe Biden appears to think it's either inevitable or a "distinct possibility" some time in February, as he told Ukraine's President Zelenskyy in a Thursday phone call.
