Fenerbahçe in seventh heaven after Euroleague victory

Fenerbahçe fans and players were over the moon on May 22, cheering and dancing on the streets to celebrate the club's maiden Turkish Airlines Euroleague title.

European basketball's top club trophy remained in Istanbul after Fenerbahçe beat Greek side Olympiacos 80-64 on May 21 in the championship game in Istanbul's Sinan Erdem Dome.

Fenerbahçe beats Olympiacos to claim Euroleague title

Fenerbahçe became the first Turkish club to claim European basketball's top club trophy with a magnificent 80-64 victory over Olympiacos on May 21.

The victory marked another milestone for Fenerbahçe's legendary coach Zeljko Obradovic, who lifted the trophy for the ninth time with five different teams. 

Reds succumb to Fener in Euroleague final

Olympiakos was unable to perform a second miracle in 48 hours and succumbed in the Euroleague final to host Fenerbahce 80-64 on Sunday in Istanbul's Sinan Erdem Dome.

For two-and-a-half quarters the Reds were close to the Turkish team in the score, trailing 39-35 at half-time after another buzzer-beating triple, this time by Khem Birch, the Greek champion's best player on the night.

The stage is set for a classic Greek-Turkish battle in the 2016-17 Euroleague basketball final, as Turkish Fenerbache, who beat Real Masdrid late Friday (84-75) will face Greek champions Olympiakos who disposed of CSKA Moscow (82-78) in another thriller.

Fenerbahçe reaches third straight Final Four with sweep of Panathinaikos

Fenerbahçe became the first team to advance to the 2017 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, which will be held in its own city, by completing a playoff sweep of Panathinaikos with a 79-61 victory on April 25 at Fenerbahçe Ülker Sports Arena on April 25. 

Fenerbahçe used a balanced attack to reach its third Final Four in as many seasons.
