Türkiye has 551 Blue Flag beaches
The number of Blue Flag beaches in Türkiye has risen to 551, the Culture Ministry has said.
The Blue Flag awards for 2023 have been announced, and 551 beaches, 23 marinas, 14 tourism boats and 10 private yachts have been awarded with a Blue Flag, according to a statement of the ministry.

Female wrestler becomes world champion second time
Turkish female wrestler Yasemin Adar Yiğit has gained her second world championship in her career after defeating her Egyptian opponent Samar Amer İbrahim Hamza in Serbia's capital Belgrade.
The 76 kg category Greco-Roman style wrestler said, "I tried to show the strength of the Turkish women to the world," on late Sept. 14.

Teacher replaces frayed Turkish flags with new ones
A history teacher residing in the northwestern province of Balıkesir's Sındırgı district has earned appreciation for her efforts to replace frayed Turkish flags in the district with new ones.
A video showing Kevser Coşgun Ay replacing an old flag flying on the top of a shop in the middle of the night made her "citizen of the day."
Military expo opened to commemorate Great Offensive
Within the scope of the 100th anniversary of the Great Offensive, Turkish armed forces have opened an exhibition in the Aegean province of Afyonkarahisar.
"We are proud to host such an event," said Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı, the governor of Afyonkarahisar.
The governor made a call to all the citizens to visit the most comprehensive military expo.

World football giant Manchester City's Turkish-German midfielder İlkay Gündoğan, who tied the knot with Moroccon-Italian model Sara Arfaoui in Copenhagen in May, have held a traditional wedding ceremony in his hometown in the northwestern province of Balıkesir.
