Man graduates from engineering school after 40 years
A man returned to school after 40 years to graduate from engineering school at the age of 63.
Üzeyir Aydın had to drop out of the civil engineering department at a university in the province of Balıkesir that he enrolled in 1978 due to financial problems.
"It was 1983 when I had to stop studying because my family was going through hard times," Aydın recalled.
Turkish Coast Guard saves 77 migrants pushed back by Greece
Turkish Coast Guard teams have rescued 77 irregular migrants pushed back by Greek authorities in two separate operations conducted off the western province of İzmir's Dikili district on June 8.
The first team patrolled the Dikili coasts upon notifications that some migrants on a dinghy were floating on the sea.

Record number of WWI grenades found at construction site in Turkey
While digging a building pit in province of Balıkesir's Bandırma district in Marmara region on April 25, construction workers found more than 830 hand grenades that are thought to be remnants of World War I.
Of the 831 hand grenades, 420 were still active, bomb disposal officers of local police force said.
‘Rock singer’ ex-Imam takes his case to European court
Ahmet Muhsin Tüzer, who once made headlines in local media as "rock singer" imam, has applied to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to get his job back.
While serving as an imam in the Mediterranean province of Antalya's Kaş district, Tüzer formed a band named "FiRock" with famous rock guitarist Doğan Sakin and released a single in 2013.

Coast Guard rescues 30 irregular migrants in Aegean Sea
The Turkish Coast Guard has rescued dozens of irregular migrants in the Aegean Sea who were pushed back to Turkish territorial waters by Greece.
Acting on information that there were migrants on a dinghy off the coast of the Dikili district of the province of İzmir, units launched an operation and rescued 24 people who were pushed back to the Turkish waters by Greek authorities.

At least 90 migrants rescued in Aegean Sea
A total of 90 migrants have been rescued by Turkish authorities in the Aegean Sea, according to a statement.
Turkey's Coast Guard Command said yesterday that it rescued a total of 90 migrants off Muğla and Balıkesir provinces.
The statement noted that 20 of the migrants were rescued off Bodrum district in Muğla, while 25 were helped off the coast of Marmaris district.
