The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has said Turkey's judicial institutions have so far failed to take any steps to find the perpetrator of the Nov. 28 killing of Diyarbak?r Bar Association head Tahir Elçi.

A historic mosque near the murder scene of prominent lawyer Tahir Elçi in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r has been set on fire during clashes between security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants.

The head of Turkey's top religious body has said six children who died in a fire at a Quranic school in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r "have become martyrs." 

A police officer who succumbed to his injuries 21 days after being wounded in clashes withthe outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has been buried in his hometown Kocaeli, in northwestern Turkey.

The co-chairs of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Selahattin Demirta? and Figen Yüksekda?, have filed declarations of their property to the Turkish parliament.

The move came a day after Republican People's Party (CHP) head Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu made the same move, while also declaring the properties of his spouse and his son.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Selahattin Demirta? has said he is "certain" that killed Diyarbak?r Bar Association head Tahir Elçi was shot by a bullet fired from a police weapon. 

A fire at a private religious school building in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r early on Dec. 1 left six children dead and three wounded.           

The blaze at the boarding shcool in the Karaa?aç village is thought to have broken out after an electrical malfunction. 

An investigation has been opened into the incident.

Police officers visited the scene where Diyarbak?r Bar Association head Tahir Elçi was killed on Nov. 28 a full two days after the incident occurred, collecting just 43 out of 83 pieces of evidence in the area after they were fired upon by unknown perpetrators.

Turkey's prime minister has said the pistol found next to the dead body of Tahir Elçi, a prominent lawyer who was killed during clashes after the killing of two police officers in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r, was the same weapon used in the first incident.
