Turkey's new lithium plant to save $20 mln imports
Turkey's Eti Maden Lithium Production Plant inaugurated in the country's central province of Eskişehir on Dec. 26 will help prevent annually $20 million lithium imports, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez said.

Turkey launching monitoring centers for COVID-19 patients
Turkey's Health Ministry is launching centers to keep track and monitor the health of COVID-19 patients at least for two years.
Two of those facilities, called "COVID-19 Monitoring Centers," have already opened in the capital Ankara and the northwestern province of Eskişehir and more will be launched in 24 provinces soon, the Health Ministry said in a statement on Dec. 16.
Turkey begins operating intercity trains
Turkey has resumed high-speed train services between four provinces as previously announced.
At a ceremony in the capital Ankara on May 28, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu called the move another important step in the country's move towards normalization.

Train, inter-city bus services to resume soon
Tickets for the high-speed train were offered for sale on May 25 ahead of the resumption of services later this week, while major intercity bus companies have announced the recommencement of their services in early June.

Nearly 64 million people spend weekend at home in Turkey’s 48-hour lockdown
Nearly 64 million citizens spent the weekend at home after the government announced on April 10 a 48-hour curfew for a total of 31 provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir in an effort to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
Residents in some cities in the past couple of weekends hit the streets and flocked to parks dodging social distancing rules.
