Famed Turkish author Orhan Kemal’s house in Istanbul for sale

The house of Orhan Kemal, one of the masters of Turkish literature, located in the metropolis of Istanbul's Fatih district, has been put on sale by the owner for 10 million Turkish Liras.

The prominent writer resided in the house between 1954 and 1966, describing this indigent district of Istanbul and its people in many of his novels.

Historic Turkish bath listed on sale for $2 mln

An abandoned historic Ottoman-era Turkish bath in Istanbul's Fatih district has been put up for sale for $2 million.

The Ayakapı Bath, built in 1582 by renowned Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan, is in danger of collapsing due to neglect.

The bath, which has a unique view of the Golden Horn, has been abandoned to its fate after being turned into private property in 1957.

Historic Bulgur Palas reopens as cultural center

The 112-year-old Bulgur Palas, designed by an Italian architect, is now open to the public following extensive restoration works by the Istanbul Municipality.

The building, whose original name was Bolulu Habip Bey Mansion and whose project was designed by the Italian architect Giulio Mongeri in 1912, was known to the people as Bulgur Palas.

Man arrested over knife attack at Istanbul mosque

An Istanbul court has arrested the suspect after he committed a knife attack on an imam and another individual from the congregation at a mosque in the Fatih district.

The incident took place on Jan. 8 around 7:15 p.m. when the suspect, identified as Ömer Salgın, began shouting slogans "Allahu Akbar, down with Israel. Wake up Muslims" inside the mosque.
