Glacier on Mount Cilo melting fast due to climate change
An expedition organized by the Turkish Geographical Association has revealed the extend of the impact of climate change on the glacier on Mount Cilo in the southeastern province of Hakkari.
2 PKK terrorists 'neutralized' in southeastern Turkey
Turkish security forces "neutralized" at least two PKK terrorists in the country's southeast, the Interior Ministry said on July 4.
The terrorists were "neutralized" in an operation supported by unmanned aerial vehicles in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari province as part of Operation Eren-14, said the ministry.

Turkey leads Europe in youth population but aging concerns linger
Young people made up 15.4 percent of Turkey's total population throughout 2020, the country's statistical authority announced May 17, showing a slight decrease of 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous year.
Out of the total population of 83.61 million last year, 12.89 million people were aged between 15 and 24, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said.
Turkey releases weekly provincial COVID-19 statistics
Turkey's health minister announced early on March 16 infection rates of the novel coronavirus across Turkey's 81 provinces on March 6-12 as part of a new weekly initiative.
"Normalization can be possible by following the measures," Fahrettin Koca said on Twitter, sharing the statistics.
Turkey's 'Alps': Mergabütan Ski Center
Turkey's Mergabütan Plateau has been transformed into a ski resort that has become a favorite of both local and foreign tourists, Turkey's industry and technology minister said on March 14.
"This is not the Alps, it is the Hakkari Mergabütan Ski Center!" Mustafa Varank wrote on Twitter.
"We identify and support investments that best suit the potential of cities," he added.
