The first Turk to sail around the world, Sadun Boro, has died at the age of 87.
Boro died in hospital in the Marmaris district of the Aegean province of Mu?la, where he was being treated for cancer, on June 5.

Salvage excavations start in Bodrum
Salvage excavations have started in the western province of Mu?la's Bodrum district after ancient tombs were unearthed during drilling works in a construction area.
The tombs are believed to have been the necropolis of Halicarnassus.

Boat sinks in Aegean Sea leaving 6 migrants dead
At least six people have drowned after a boat carrying migrants to a Greek island sank in the Aegean Sea on April 6, Turkish officials have said.
Nine people were also rescued, the governor of the southwestern province of Mu?la, Amir Çiçek, told the Anadolu Agency.
The migrants, believed to be Syrians and Iraqis, were heading to Greece illegally.

European Court of Human Rights fines Turkey over length of investigation
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has fined Turkey for violating Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, on the grounds that an investigation against a Turkish citizen was conducted ineffectively.
In the Mehmet Yaman vs. Turkey case, the ECHR has fined Turkey a total of 14,500 euros because the length of the investigation into Yaman violated Article 3.
