Turkish resort municipalities call for delay of school opening over bad tourism season

The mayors of three Aegean resort towns in Turkey have called on the Education Ministry and Culture Ministry to postpone the reopening of schools by two weeks, in order for the tourism sector to compensate for the losses it has suffered this summer.

Bodrum streets now hosting Pakistani refugees

After previously hosting refugees from Syria and Myanmar, the streets of Turkey's resort town of Bodrum are now being used as an outdoor camping site by Pakistani refugees. 

Bodrum's bazaar, known for its attraction for domestic and foreign tourists, has now become an outdoor home to many young Pakistani men who left their country for a better life.

Piri Reis maps in Bodrum

An exhibition of famous Ottoman admiral and cartographer Piri Reis' maps has been opened in the western province of Mu?la's Bodrum district. The exhibiton at the Milta Bodrum Marina Ottoman Shipyard can be visited until July 23.
