Bulgarian Waste Sorting is Being Compromised by Vandalism Acts

Over the course of the first several months of 2015, more than BGN 12, 000 had to be invested in the restoration or substitution of waste sorting containers across Bulgaria.

The announcement was made by Georgi Slavchev - a representative of one of the companies appointed to administer the process within the Sofia municipality, as reported by the Bulgarian National Radio.

Over 1,000 Old Cars Rotting in Sofia

Close to 1,000 old cars that are no longer suitable for driving, are rotting on the streets of Sofia. This contributes to the already heavy traffic in the capital.

All cars that don't have up-to-date registration plates and that have not undergone technical inspections over the past two years are considered to be no longer used.

Save Sofia NGO Alarms Brussels on Poor Renovation Works Funded by EU

The non-governmental organization Save Sofia has sent a signal to Brussels on account of low quality renovation works in Bulgaria's capital. The project was executed in the Sofia municipality with EU funds.

Dwelling Prices in Bulgaria Registered Increase at End of 2014

The market prices of dwellings in Bulgaria increased in the last three months of 2014, according to a study of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which was released on Friday.

The prices of dwellings increased with 0.7 % compared to the preceding three-month period in 2014, and registered 1.2 % growth compared to the same period in 2013.

6 Bulgarian Districts under Code Orange Weather Alert over Heavy Rains

Code orange weather warning over heavy rains has been issued for six Bulgarian districts for September 16, including Montana, Vratsa, Plovdiv, Smolyan, Pazardzhik and Sofia district.

Code orange means that the meteorological phenomena envisaged in the forecast pose a potential risk to life and property.
