Ministry allocates 50 mln liras for flood relief
In response to the recent devastating floods in the country's north that have claimed the lives of three people, Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş has announced that a sum of 50 million Turkish Liras ($1.9 million) has been allocated to address the urgent and basic needs of the affected regions.

Erdogan offers free gas pre-election after first Black Sea field shipment
President Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday flicked the switch on Turkey's first delivery of natural gas to an onshore plant from a reserve discovered in the Black Sea, and promised to provide free natural gas for households before May 14 elections.
Building erected by lifting jack leans again: Locals
Locals in the Black Sea province of Karabük have said, a building that became known nationwide for leaning after the floods on June 27, had leaned once before more than two decades ago and was erected with the help of a lifting jack.
"A building owned by two brothers in the Tır village of the Yenice district leaned after the June floods," İHA News Agency reported on July 4.
Precipitation to hit northern provinces through week
A new precipitation wave will impact the northern provinces along the Black Sea shores through the week, said the meteorologists, warning many provinces of thunder-boomers and floodings.
According to the State Meteorological Service, there will be rainfalls in the Marmara region, some Aegean provinces, the provinces near the Georgian border.
Sakarya Gas Field to get investment of $10 billion
Turkey will provide state support for a major project to develop the natural gas field it discovered in the Black Sea, according to a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette yesterday.
Turkish Petroleum (TPAO) project's investment value will be 145.1 billion Turkish Liras (approximately $10 billion) and the project period will be 11 years, according to the decree.

Inspiring story of mini-satellite becomes ‘documentary’

The film tells the story of the production process of the mini satellite, which was launched with the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Base in the U.S. on Jan. 13.
Wild winds in Turkey claim lives, close Bosphorus strait
