Terror fear hits Troy
The 5,000-year-old ancient city of Troy, in the northwestern Turkish province of Çanakkale, is among the places that suffered from terror attacks over the past year, with the number of visitors decreasing by more than half in 2016 compared to the previous year.

24 companies take specifications for 1915 Çanakkale Bridge bid, almost half foreign: Minister
A total of 24 companies have taken specifications for Turkey's 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, planned to be completed and opened in 1923, Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan has said.
Four of the companies are from Japan, three are from China, two are from South Korea and one is from Italy, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Jan. 18.

Ancient inn complex unearthed in Assos
Archaeological excavations in the ancient city of Assos, located in the northwestern Turkish province of Çanakkale's Ayvacık district, have unearthed an inn complex.
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Archaeology Department Professor Nurettin Arslan said works this year mostly focused on Byzantine era ruins in the inner parts of the ancient city.
