2,000-year-old altar found near northwestern Çanakkale
A 2,000-year-old altar has been unearthed in northwestern Turkey near the town of Ezine in Çanakkale province, archeologists said on Oct. 9.
A hall with a podium, temple, odium, and bathhouse were among the remains that have survived to the present day in the ancient city of Alexandria Troas, an area near the Aegean Sea.
Gallipoli Underwater Park opens to diving tourism
The warships that sank 106 years ago on the Historical Gallipoli Peninsula, where the Dardanelles War took place, were opened to tourism as the Gallipoli Historical Underwater Park.

Landmark bridge’s catwalk links two sides of Dardanelles
The countdown has started for the opening of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge in northwestern Turkey, Turkish Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu said on Sept. 20.
Only 20 decks of Çanakkale Bridge left to be united
Officials have placed the 67th deck of all 87 decks of the Çanakkale Bridge, aiming to finish joining the bridge road that will connect the European and the Asian sides of the strait by the end of September.
The bridge, nicknamed "neckband of Çanakkale Strait," will be opened to public service on the 107th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory on March 18, 2022.

Turkish people paid tribute to fallen soldiers in Çanakkale, a western province where the greatest victories in the history of Turkey took place, on the 106th anniversary of the Anafartalar Victory.

Artist paints ‘Turkish Saga’ in cities he visits with caravan
A Turkish artist has been traveling the country with a caravan he bought in October 2020 and has been painting extinct cities, historical artifacts, and people inspiring him on his canvas within the scope of a project he named "Turkish Saga."
Accompanied by his Italian fiancee, Chiara, Ardıç Aguş has made 40 paintings in seven months.

Turkish museums get European awards
Welcoming its visitors at the entrance of the 5,000-year-old Troy Ruins in the northwestern province of Çanakkale, the Troy Museum has been honored with the 2020 European Museum of the Year Special Award given by the European Museum Forum (EMF) under the auspices of the Council of Europe.

Excavations in Anatolia’s two ancient sites shed light on history
Excavation works carried out in the archaeological site of Troy in the northwestern province of Çanakkale, and the ancient city of Aizanoi in the Aegean province of Kütahya shed light on their 5,000-year-old history, according to a report by state-run Anadolu Agency released on April 29.
