2012–13 Superleague Greece

PAOK is winter champion as Reds draw at Xanthi

PAOK came from behind to beat Larissa and extend its lead at the top of the Super League to seven points on Sunday, thanks to the draw Olympiakos conceded at Xanthi that has seen Atromitos leapfrog the Reds into second.

The results mean PAOK is the winter champion, two rounds of games before the halfway point of the league.

Panathinaikos on minus 3 points after winning Greek opener

Panathinaikos moved up to minus three points after winning its Greek league season-opener 1-0 at Xanthi on Sunday.

Financially troubled Panathinaikos started the season with minus six points due to money owed to players.

Yiannis Bouzoukis scored with a long-range effort in the 69th minute, following a half-hearted clearance by Xanthi goalkeeper Zivko Zivkovic.

Heartbreak for Atromitos and Asteras

Neither Asteras Tripolis nor Atromitos did manage to advance in the Europa League, failing to score victories at home in the return games held in Greece on Thursday.

Both the Asteras vs Hibernian and the Atromitos vs Dinamo Brest games finished 1-1 for the second qualifying round, leaving Olympiakos as the only Greek club left in the competition.

And the Oscar goes to... Asteras Tripolis

On the day of one of the most forgettable Derbies of the Eternal Rivals between Olympiakos and Panathinaikos that ended in a draw, Asteras Tripolis stole the show in the Super League beating PAOK in what was arguably the season's best match.

AEK beat Panionios 1-0 on Sunday through a Marko Livaja goal and is on 54 points with six games left to play, the next one being at PAOK.

Olympiakos 'winter champion' as AEK stumbles at home

Olympiakos took advantage of AEK's slip-up at home to finish first at the halfway point of the Super League season and earn the unofficial title of the winter champion.

AEK was held to a goalless draw at home on Saturday by Apollon, whose new manager Giorgos Paraschos managed to organize the visitors' defense well enough to frustrate the Yellows at the Olympic Stadium.
