Beşiktaş parts way with coach Sergen Yalçın

Beşiktaş coach Sergen Yalçın has left his post following a string of poor results, according to a statement by the Turkish Süper Lig champion.

"We have parted ways by mutual agreement with Sergen Yalçın, who has been the coach of our Professional Football Team since Jan. 29, 2020," Beşiktaş said on Dec. 9 in a brief statement.

Beşiktaş out to defend driver's seat

Leader Beşiktaş will have a chance to bolster its lead ahead of Medipol Başakşehir when it takes the field in the Spor Toto Super League this weekend with just three weeks left in the year.

Istanbul clubs Başakşehir and Beşiktaş have led the way through much of the season and are now entering the most crucial segment of the season.

Tudor set for first test with Galatasaray

Spor Toto Super League club Galatasaray will travel to Çaykur Rizespor on Feb. 18 for its first test under new coach Igor Tudor.

The former Croatian international left his post at Karabükspor and signed a one-and-a-half year contract on Feb. 16 to replace Dutch coach Jan Olde Riekerink.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Tudor said he was aware of the pressure awaiting him. 

Fenerbahçe challenges undefeated Beşiktaş

A rising Fenerbahçe, which has won its last eight games, will host historic rival Beşiktaş on Dec. 3 looking to maintain an 11-year undefeated record in derby games.

Beşiktaş, meanwhile, is out to extend its unbeaten run in three competitions - the Spor Toto Super League, Champions League and the Ziraat Turkey Cup. 

Fenerbahçe clings to top of league with Sivasspor win

Fenerbahçe narrowly beat Medicana Sivasspor 3-2 in an away match May 9 to sit in second place in the Turkish Spor Toto Super League, keeping pace with league-leading Galatasaray.  

Sivasspor took the lead in the eighth minute when Mehdi Taouil scored the opening goal of the game to put the home side up 1-0. Just a minute later, Fenerbahçe playmaker Diego replied to make it 1-1.
