NATO: Six foreign troops killed in Afghanistan suicide attack

Six foreign soldiers were killed in a suicide attack near the US-run Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan on Dec. 21, NATO said.
     
Another three NATO troops were wounded in the attack, according to U.S. Army Brig. Gen William Shoffner, head of public affairs at NATO's Resolute Support base in the Afghan capital Kabul.
     

Bulgarian Authorities Detain Syrian Refugees Hidden in Romanian Truck

Bulgarian authorities detained nine Syrian refugees hidden in a Romanian truck in the Pass of the Republic (also known as Hainboaz) in central Bulgaria on Saturday.

Four young men, four women and a one-year-old child were detained after drivers travelling through the pass had informed police that there were immigrants in the truck.

Turkey receives 2015 Humanitarian Award for hosting refugees

Turkey has received an award from the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S. for its humanitarian efforts towards Syrian and Iraqi refugees.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) presented the 2015 Humanitarian Award to the Turkish ambassador to the U.S., Serdar K?l?ç, during an annual ceremony of the organization on Oct. 17.
