Saudi-led airstrikes killed 15 people and wounded dozens across Yemen late on June 20, the Houthi-run Saba news agency reported.

The dead included five women and two children in attacks on Saada and Marib provinces, the agency said. 

The head of the United Nations opened peace talks on Yemen on June 15 with a call for a humanitarian ceasefire, saying the country was on the verge of a collapse that the Middle East could not withstand. 

Ban Ki-moon said the truce, called to mark the start of the holy month of Ramadan, should last for at least two weeks to allow life-saving supplies into the country. 

Houthi forces and their army allies in Yemen seized the capital of a large desert province on the border with Saudi Arabia on June 14, residents said, an important victory for the group ahead of peace talks in Geneva on June 15. 

Yemen's dominant Houthi group and its army allies fired a Scud missile at Saudi Arabia which the kingdom says it shot down on June 6, in a major escalation of two months of war. 

The French Foreign Ministry is trying to authenticate a video purporting to show a Frenchwoman taken hostage in Yemen appealing to President Francois Hollande to seek her release, an official said on June 1.
