Turkey marks Int’l Day of Disabled Persons amid limited opportunities
In recent years, Turkey has taken important legal steps in regards to equality, accessibility, and employment opportunities for the disabled community, but due to a lack of change in mentality, the difficulties disabled people face show the country still has a long way to go in terms of providing opportunities for their meaningful participation in public life.

Beaches on the Black Sea Cost Inaccessible For People With Disabilities
Beaches on the Black Sea coast become more and more inaccessible for people with disabilities, reported bTV. That is why they are forced to watch the sea from a distance.
A 100-meter-long wooden walkway to allow wheelchair access costs about USD 2,000.
The Ministry of Tourism has explained that they advise tenants to put such facilities, but can not oblige them.

Turkey's Changemakers: Guide Dogs Association
The Guide Dogs Association of Turkey is the 14th Changemaker in the eighth season of the Sabancı Foundation Turkey's Changemakers Program.
According to the Family and Social Policies Ministry, there are 750,000 people in Turkey with visual disabilities including persons with low vision.

Bulgaria's Kvadrat 500 To Open Exhibition Hall for People With Visual Impairment
A new exhibition hall for people with visual impairment "Touch the Gallery" will open at Kvadrat (Square) 500 on October 13 at 18:30 hrs, reported the press centre of the Ministry of Culture.
It will present works of art of famous Bulgarian artists from the permanent exhibition of Kvadrat 500 adapted to tactile graphics with audio descriptions in Bulgarian and English.
Salaries in Bulgaria's Emergency Care Sector to Go Up by 20% as of Jan 2015
Salaries in the emergency healthcare sector will increase by 20% as of January 2015, according to Deputy Health Minister Vanyo Sharkov.
In a Tuesday interview for Nova TV he made clear that the aim was to introduce 20% pay hikes on an annual basis until a 100% increase is achieved in 2020.
