Greek authorities placed three areas in the eastern Aegean island of Rhodes in a state of emergency on Thursday, allowing it to mobilize all forces as wildfires continued to burn.

Twenty of the largest archaeological sites and museums in Greece will gain access to wireless internet (Wi-Fi), according to the Ministry of Culture.
Free broadband at top archaeological sites and museums in Greece
OTE Group, in cooperation with the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports, will offer free wireless broadband (Wi-Fi) services at 20 top archaeological sites and museums in Greece. The goal of this investment exceeding €2 million is to promote the Greek cultural heritage through technology and promote the public’s interaction and connection with the sites.
Large wildfire reported on Rhodes
A major wildfire erupted on forest and brushland on the eastern Aegean island of Rhodes on Monday afternoon and remained uncontrolled heading into the evening.
The blaze was reported at the Tsairi site, off the main highway leading from the city of Rhodes to Lindos.
