Following its warm reception in February, the BlackBox Jazz Festival returns featuring 10 concerts at the Parnassos Literary Society (8 Karitsi Square) from October 18 to November 1. Two local bands are set to take the stage for an evening dedicated to experimental nu-jazz at Romantso (3-5 Anaxagora). Teleferik will present their new album characterized by cosmic grooves and spacy melodies. Their sound is a mix of electronic, psy/space and nu-jazz/rock orchestrated with psychedelic harmonies.

Theater of the No (3 Konstantinou Palaiologou) presents Athens-based band Blues Cargo for eight live performances every Friday from July 12 to August 30, starting at 10.30 p.m. Active since 1987, the popular band will perform Chicago-style funky-soul-blues standards and original tracks. Known for his energetic live performances, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer Jacob Collier will perform in Athens for the first time at the Lycabettus Theater on July 13. Groovey legend Parov Stelar will bring his fusion of electronic beats, jazz and swing to the Release Athens Festival at the Water Plaza (2616 Posidonos, Kallithea). With hits like "Catgroove" and "Clap Your Hands," the Austrian electro-swing sensation will perform on June 15. Joining him is vibrant pop French artist Jain, performing in Greece for the first time.

Kosmos radio station invites you to a lively celebration of jazz on June 1, at Gazarte (34 Voutadon) featuring DJs and a live performance by Rosey Blue. Known for her unique voice, Athens-based Rosey Blue will perform with six musicians, blending blues, jazz, Motown soul and garage rock. The event promises a groovy atmosphere that will get you in the mood for dancing. Admission is free.

Athens Jazz, the city's longest-running musical institution, returns for its 23rd year courtesy of the Municipality of Athens at Technopolis (100 Pireos) on May 27. Greece's largest jazz celebration offers a week filled with live music, rhythm and special events - all with free admission.

Scenius [at] Athens is set to host an evening dedicated to the new jazz scene on April 16, at Plyfa (39 Koritsas, plyfa.space). The event will showcase the experimental folk psych-jazz band from London, Valia Calda, alongside the Greek jazz punk trio MOb. The performances will be followed by a vinyl listening session.
