Eurostat: Sofia Airport is on the 63nd Position Among the 150 Airports in the EU
Sofia Airport is 63rd in terms of number of passengers in 2017 from about 150 airports of EU countries, according to Eurostat data on today's 7th of December, which is marked as International Aviation Day.
Last year, around 6.5 million passengers passed through Sofia Airport, which is 30% more than in the previous 2016, according to European statistics.
Arrivals at Greek airports rise 10 percent
More than 44 million passengers used Greek airports in the January-to-August 2018 period, up 9.9 percent from the same period in 2017, while there was also an 8.7 percent increase in the number of flights, Civil Aviation Authority figures have shown.

Turkish air passenger traffic soars in 2017
The number of passengers passing through Turkish airports increased by 11 percent in 2017, compared to the previous year, according to the Transport Ministry on Jan. 6.

Over 35 mln passengers traveled through Turkish airports in first quarter of 2017: Airport authority
More than 35.5 million air travelers went through Turkey's airports in the first three months of 2017, according to statistics released by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority.
The number of passengers on international flights fell 7 percent year-on-year to almost 12.5 million in the first quarter.
3.1 million passengers use Greek airports within first two months of 2015
Passenger traffic in all of Greece’s airports is rising, showing an increase of 26.6% with a total of 1,485,573 passengers.
As far as domestic passengers are concerned, the rise is estimated at 32.5%, which is translated to a total of 796,434 passengers.
Foreign passengers rose by 20.%, for a total of 689,139 passengers.
