Lanthimos's 'The Favourite' receives 10 Oscar nominations
Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos's "The Favourite," an absurdist period comedy about two cousins courting the favor of Queen Anne in the 18th century England, has received 10 Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Best director and Best supporting actress.
"The Favourite" is leading the pack alongside Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron's "Roma."
'The Favourite' leads nominations for Britain's BAFTA awards
"The Favourite" led the nominations for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards on Wednesday, with 12 nods for the costume piece that has already won its leading actress Olivia Colman several prizes.
Reception held for Turkish films in Venice
A reception was held on Sept. 6 in Venice for three Turkish films screening at the 72nd Venice Film Festival. Under the auspices of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry, the reception took place at a hotel on San Clemente Island.
This year, young Turkish director Emin Alper's "Abluka" (Frenzy), is among the 21 films competing for the Golden Lion.

Mikhalkov, Tavernier, Konchalovsky, Cuaron at Kustendorf
BELGRADE - The 8th Kustendorf International Film and Music Festival, which begins at Drvengrad in Mecavnik on Wednesday, now also has celebrated Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov on its guest list.
Confirmed guests include famous director Andrey Konchalovsky, Mexican-American director Alfonso Cuaron, as well as cult French director Bertrand Tavernier.
