Athens commuters are set for fresh travel disruptions on Friday due to a planned 24-hour strike, the second this week, by workers on the Athens metro, tram and the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway (ISAP).
TAIPED starts the year with marina bids
For state privatization fund TAIPED, 2017 gets under way with the concession of two marinas: at Pylos in the Peloponnese and Alimos in Attica. By the end of February, this should have been followed by the announcement the tenders for two more, on Chios and at Aretsou in Thessaloniki, and, afterward, another of Myconos.

The police found weapons and explosives in Roupa’s hideout
Weapons and explosives were found in one of the houses police is investigating after the arrest of Pola Roupa this morning.
The house at Kyprou av., in Alimos, Athens was discovered at midday from notes and relevant evidence the police found in her house.
Weapons cache discovered in Alimos following Roupa arrest
Greek authorities discovered a cache of weapons in a garage in Alimos, southern Athens, on Thursday, following the arrest of Pola Roupa, 48, a fugitive member of Revolutionary Struggle terrorist group, earlier in the day.
Roupa, who was arrested in an apartment in Ilioupoli, had been on the run since 2014, and was believed to be involved in several attacks orchestrated by the group.
Footbridges to be built over busy Athens roads
Six footbridges will be constructed over dangerous road crossings in Athens, the Infrastructure Ministry announced on Friday.
Minister Christos Spirtzis signed off on the 13-million-euro project and announced a tender.

National Geographic telecopes set up in Athens (video)
The “Mars Observation Week” will start in Athens with an event for a National Geographic documentary TV fantasy series of the conquest of the red planet called “Mars”. A series of happenings, which are open to the public (6pm till 10pm), commence on Monday, November 21 at Zappeion and are scheduled to run until November 27 at the Floisvos Park.
Migrants are cleared out from Tae Kwon Do stadium, but govt has no place to host them
Greek government had announced yesterday the migrants held at Tae Kwon Do stadium in Paleo Faliro would be transferred to the Hellinikon Olympic Hockey Centre since the stadium should be evacuated to be prepared for European games.

The government has admitted its lack of plan for immigrants to Greece at a time when they are being carted back and forth from Idomeni to Athens without a plan.
