Slovenia advance in Davis Cup
Portorož – The Slovenian men’s tennis team has advanced to the Davis Cup World Group I qualifiers after defeating Estonia 4:0 in World Group II. After Slovenia won two singles matches on Friday, Aljaž Bedene and Blaž Kavčič also won the doubles competition on Sunday. Slovenia followed up with another singles win.

Slovenia’s favourite out of the French Open
Paris – Slovenia’s best tennis player, Tamara Zidanšek, is out of the competition at the French Open after being knocked out by Jessica Pegula of the US in the third round of the singles competition and then going on to be eliminated in the doubles as well.

Tsitsipas out in Rotterdam last 16
Second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas lost 7-5 6-4 to unseeded Slovenian Aljaz Bedene as upsets continued at the Rotterdam Open on Thursday.
Tsitsipas earned five break points in the opening set but the Greek failed to convert any and Bedene won 11 points in a row to wrap up the set.

Djokovic beats Bedene in Rome opener
ROME - Serbia's top-ranked male tennis player Novak Djokovic beat Briton Aljaz Bedene 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 in the opening round of the Rome Masters tournament late Tuesday.
Djokovic is now 3-0 head-to-head against Bedene.
