Fatih vessel to conduct exploration activities in new location in Black Sea

The Fatih drilling vessel will carry out exploration activities near the Türkiye-Bulgaria exclusive economic zone, south of the Sakarya Gas Field in the Black Sea, Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar has announced.

The Fatih drilling ship found natural gas in June 2021 in the Black Sea.

Türkiye may supply power to Syria, Lebanon: Minister

Türkiye may provide electricity to Syria and Lebanon, depending on the situation in the transmission network, Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar has said.

Speaking to reporters in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa, Bayraktar said that a Turkish delegation is in Damascus to evaluate Syria's energy infrastructure.

Turkish Energy Ministry delegation to visit Syria to discuss cooperation

A delegation from the Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Ministry will soon visit Syria to conduct evaluations on the country's electricity and energy infrastructure, Minister Alparslan Bayraktar has announced.

"The foremost issue concerning energy in Syria is electricity. A formula will be devised to ensure its provision," Bayraktar told reporters on Dec. 24.

Over 350 Turkish engineers now working at Akkuyu plant

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar has announced that more than 350 Turkish nuclear engineers are now actively working at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

 

"Türkiye, with its highly trained nuclear engineers, is taking a decisive step towards energy independence," Bayraktar stated, highlighting the strategic importance of the project.

 

Minister vows to speed up permit process in mining sector

The government will take steps to shorten the authorization processes in the mining industry to improve the investment environment, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar has said.

Speaking at the Türkiye Mining Summit in Istanbul, the minister noted that it takes as long as 13 years for a metallic mine site to become operational.
