In Italy and Austria, at least eight people have died in the Alps during the weekend. Three Italian mountaineers died in the Italian Alps during the weekend, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.

Seventy-five years ago, a Swiss couple disappeared in the Alps after going to feed their cows. Their bodies were recently found in a melting glacier, "perfectly preserved" in World War II clothing, complete with identification papers. Reported TheVerge. 

The frozen bodies of a Swiss couple who went missing 75 years ago in the Alps have been found on a shrinking glacier, Swiss media said on July 18.

Marcelin and Francine Dumoulin, the parents of seven children, had gone to milk their cows in a meadow above Chandolin in the Valais canton on Aug. 15, 1942.

Scientists have successfully replicated the ‘best approximation’ of the ancient man’s deep Stone Age voice. Using CT scans, they recreated the mummy’s vocal cords, throat and mouth, allowing them to digitally produce what may have been Ötzi’s vowel sounds. This is what The Lobster, the new film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, asks on the occasion of its premier at British cinemas.

The film shows people taken to a hotel where they have to find their mate in 45 days. If they fail to do it, they will be taken to a room where they will be turned into an animal and released into the woods.

It’s another appearance in the stellar Cannes festival for budding Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos, whose latest work, “The Lobster”, features Hollywood A-listers Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz.

VIENNA - The government of the Austrian state of Tyrol has decided to join the aid efforts for the victims of the floods in Southeastern Europe.

Tyrol President Guenther Platter said after a meeting of the government that Tyrol would provide EUR 150,000 as aid for the flooded areas in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia.
