Trade Winds forum set to kick off in Istanbul this week
The U.S. Department of Commerce is bringing more than 120 U.S. businesses to Europe and Eurasia for the 14th annual Trade Winds as Türkiye and the U.S. seek to boost bilateral trade to $100 billion.
This year's Trade Winds centers around a three-day business forum from May 13-15 in Istanbul.
Turkish-US economic ties ‘continue to improve’
The economic relations between Türkiye and the United States continue to develop positively in 2023, with the volume of trade between the two countries reaching $31.3 billion in the last 12 months.

Ajša Vodnik gets another term as vice chair of AmChams in Europe
Ljubljana – Ajša Vodnik, director general of AmCham Slovenija, has won another term as vice president of AmChams in Europe, a network of American Chambers of Commerce from 43 countries in Europe and Eurasia, AmCham Slovenia said. This means Slovenia will remain the seat of the organisation for another two years.
Turkish-American Business Association names new president
Bora Gürçay, the Motorola Turkey country manager responsible for all Motorola Turkey operations, has been named the new president of the Turkish-American Business Association American Chamber of Commerce (TABA/AmCham).
Gürçay, who was elected unanimously in the general board meeting, will hold the position for the next two years, the organization said in a written statement.
Rule of Law Worries US Firms in Montenegro
The latest survey of the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro, AmCham, released on Wednesday, suggests that a significant number of US companies - 70 per cent - do not believe that the rule of law has improved and more than half see "uneven implementation of the laws" as an issue.
