The exhibition "Gheorghe Lazar National College - 160 years of Romanian education", organized on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the establishment of the educational institution, was opened on Friday at the National Museum of Romania's History (MNIR).

President Klaus Iohannis on Monday signed a decree appointing incumbent Minister of Culture Daniel Breaz interim Education Minister. According to a press statement released by the Presidential Administration, Iohannis also signed a decree dismissing Ecaterina Andronescu as Education Minister.

Bucharest, June 29 /Agerpres/ - Prime Minister Viorica Dancila was elected, on Saturday, chair of the Social Democrat Party (PSD), Eugen Teodorovici was elected executive chair and Mihai Fifor was elected secretary general. Viorica Dancila garnered 2828 votes, Liviu Plesoianu - 715 votes, Serban Nicolae 375 votes and Ecaterina Andronescu - 50 votes. 22 votes were annulled.

The social-democrats will meet on Saturday at an extraordinary congress at 11:00 hrs at the Palace Hall in Bucharest to elect their president, the executive president and the party's secretary general.

The National Executive Committee of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) will meet on Friday to validate the bids for the party's leadership positions - chairman, executive chairman, and secretary general, but also to set the agenda for the extraordinary Congress due on Saturday, party sources said.

The National Education minister Ecaterina Andronescu on Tuesday said in central Targu Mures that in the near future the ministry will focus on turning all vocational schools into dual vocational ones and that by the future Education Law the technical high schools are to be turned into dual technical high schools.
