Anti-Armenian sentiment in Azerbaijan

BAKU - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday in Baku his discussions with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had addressed cooperation in the energy sector and, in particular, building a gas power plant near Nis as a joint venture with Azerbaijan.

BAKU  - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said in Baku on Monday Serbia and Azerbaijan had achieved much in the past two decades when it comes to forging bilateral ties, now characterised by trust, security and a strategic partnership in the true sense of the word.

BAKU - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said in Baku on Sunday his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was a sign of great respect for Serbia and a result of a firm friendship whose foundations had been built by Aliyev and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev's party has won snap parliamentary elections, the poll commission announced Monday.

Aliyev had called Sunday's snap legislative election ahead of schedule to avoid the poll coinciding with the COP29 climate conference that Baku is to host on November 11-22.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its sincere hope on Monday that the parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan on Sept. 1 would be "auspicious" for the brotherly nation.

The ministry highlighted in a statement the significance of the elections, describing them as historic.

A human rights organization representing ethnic Armenians has submitted evidence to the International Criminal Court, arguing that Azerbaijan is committing an ongoing genocide against them.

Türkiye has criticized Armenia's expected meeting with the United States and the European Union in Brussels, scheduled for April 5, for not including Azerbaijan, labeling it an attempt to "undermine neutrality" in the region.

The visit of the Bulgarian MPs Valeri Simeonov and Yordan Apostolov to the occupied territory of Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh and their meeting there with representatives of the illegal separatist regime is a direct violation of international law, Azerbaijani MP from the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Elman Nasirov told Trend.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has echoed President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an in displaying solidarity with Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, pledging to stand by Baku "until doomsday."

Armenia said on Dec. 22 that the ceasefire with arch-foe Azerbaijan over the breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh virtually no longer exists, describing frequent skirmishes at the frontline as "war."
