AKP delegation meets İYİ Party's new leader

A ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) delegation, including the party's parliamentary leaders, visited the İYİ (Good) Party's new leader, Müsavat Dervişoğlu, on May 30.

The AKP delegation was led by Abdullah Güler, Özlem Zengin, Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu, Abdulhamit Gül and Muhammet Emin Akaşoğlu, and included the party's deputy leader, Mustafa Elitaş.

Erdoğan accuses UN, US, Europe of complicity in Gaza attacks

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has lashed out at the United Nations, the United States and European nations, accusing them of complicity in the ongoing violence in Gaza.

"Is there not a shred of humanity left in you, do you have no limits, no boundaries? Are you so hostile to humanity, do you have no shred of conscience?" Erdoğan asked during a parliamentary meeting on May 29.

Turkish army conducts large-scale drill in İzmir

Approximately 11,000 personnel have participated in the Turkish Armed Forces' largest joint military exercise in the western province of İzmir.

With 1,500 foreign military personnel from 45 nations, the exercise, which commenced on May 9, witnessed a "public day" on May 27, where military personnel families and relatives of martyrs and veterans attended a dedicated segment.

Erdoğan labels new constitution efforts 'national duty'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reiterated his ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) proposal for a new constitution, deeming it a "national duty."

"Constitutions made without seeking compromise are crippled beyond birth, they are closer to producing a crisis," Erdoğan stated during an event in Istanbul on May 27.
