Stoned and mystical! The enigma of the Delphic Oracle (Photos)
The Panhellenic Sanctuary of Delphi, once regarded as the most famous oracle of ancient Greece, lies at the foot of Mt. Parnassos. Regarded as the center of the world, it is here that two eagles were sent out by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the navel of the world. It was revered in antiquity as the omphalos of activity.
Side proves to be a prophecy center
An Omphalos stone, which has been found in Manavgat, a town in the southern province of Antalya, has proven the region was a prophecy center.
Isparta Süleyman Demirel University Professor Mehmet Özhanl? said his further examinations of the stone have confirmed this fact.

Amphipolis: Links with Delphi, Alexander’s dynasty
Italian archaeologist and art historian Antonio Corso is considered an expert in ancient Greek sculptures. In an interview to protothema.gr he provides his theory, backed by evidence, on the Amphipolis complex.
The tumulus lies in northern Greece’s Macedonia province, east of the city of Thessaloniki and nearer to the town of Serres.

Apollo 11 souvenirs come to light at show
More than four decades after the Apollo 11 moon landing, a cloth bag full of souvenirs brought back by astronaut Neil Armstrong has come to light. Among the trove: a 16 mm movie camera from inside the lunar module that filmed its descent to the moon and Armstrong's first steps on the lunar surface in 1969.

The tomb is the first one unearthed since work began in 2004 Excavations at Apollon Smintheus, located in the northwestern province of Çanakkale's Ayvac?k district, have unearthed a 7,000-year-old tomb.
