Five Armenian soldiers killed by Azerbaijani gunfire: Baku
At least five Armenian troops have been killed in border clashes with Azerbaijani soldiers, said Azerbaijani officials on Aug. 24.
The Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan said in a statement that Armenian soldiers fired at Azerbaijani positions with howitzers on Aug. 21.
Azerbaijani forces fired back and killed at least five Armenian soldiers and wounded eight, the ministry said.
Dacic visits South Caucasus in OSCE role
OSCE Chairperson in Office Ivica Dacic started his official trip to the South Caucasus on Monday with a visit to Baku.
The Serbian foreign minister conferred with President llham Aliyev about the potential for progress towards a comprehensive peace agreement for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as co-operation between the OSCE and Azerbaijan.

Turkey, Azerbaijan begin joint military exercises
Turkish and Azeri armed forces May 12 started joint military exercises in the Azeri capital of Baku and Nakhchivan, the Azeri Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The exercises would continue until May 17 and were being held within the framework of a military cooperation agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan, it said.

The clashes erupted on early Feb. 21 between Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers when an Armenian reconnaissance unit tried to cross the front line into southern Azerbaijan, the statement said.
