Turkey radio station closed after suspension over Armenian genocide remark
An independent radio station in Istanbul has shut down after Turkey's regulator cancelled its terrestrial broadcasting licence after it failed to comply with a suspension order over comments made by a guest on the genocide of Armenians.
Armenian PM says peace with Azerbaijan 'within reach'
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that peace with Azerbaijan was "within reach," appealing to his neighbor to sign a treaty to turn the page on decades of conflict.
"Today I want to say that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan not only is possible, but is within reach," Pashinyan said in an address to the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 25.
Turkish, Azerbaijani FMs hold key meet amid Caucasus peace talks
Turkish and Azerbaijani foreign ministers, Hakan Fidan and Ceyhun Bayramov, held a key meeting in the Turkish capital Ankara on Aug. 27 to discuss their countries' ongoing separate talks with Armenia for the normalization of their relationships.
Bayramov came to Ankara for a one-day visit and met his Turkish counterpart, Fidan.
US welcomes meeting of Turkish, Armenian representatives
The U.S. on Wednesday welcomed a meeting between Turkish and Armenian special representatives at their long-closed border, calling the normalization talks a "positive step in bringing peace and stability to the South Caucasus."
