Turkish Airlines sees record 30.3 million passengers in first half of 2017

The number of passengers Turkish Airlines carried in the first half of the year has hit 30.3 million people -- the highest ever, according to a statement released by the airline on July 11.        

The national flag carrier said this year's number of customers in June rose by 13.5 percent, reaching 5.7 million, compared with the same period in 2016.        

Turkish Airlines launches new route to Seychelles

Turkish Airlines began operating flights on Oct. 31 from Istanbul to The Seychelles, the 115-island country which lies 1,500 kilometers (932 miles) east of the East African mainland, the company said in a written statement, Anadolu Agency has reported.

Turkey's flag-carrier Turkish Airlines said the Seychelles marked the airline's 114th country it flies to, and the 42nd in Africa. 

Boeing set to deliver record number of airplanes to Turkish Airlines

Boeing is set to deliver a record number of airplanes this year to Turkey's flag-carrier Turkish Airlines, the latter said in a written statement on April 29. 

In total, the carrier will receive the delivery of six 777-300ERs and 20 Next-Generation 737-800s over the course of 2016, according to the statement. 

Turkish Airlines posts record net profit

Turkey's national flag-carrier, Turkish Airlines, announced a record operating net profit of 2.99 billion Turkish Liras ($1.01 billion) for last year on March 1, with a 65 percent increase from a year earlier.

This was the first time the annual profit of the company exceeded $1 billion. 

The gross real operating profit stood at $895 million, another record for the company.
