Contentious provision removed from water bill
Ljubljana – The environment and economy ministries have withdrawn a planned provision allowing construction of manufacturing facilities which use hazardous materials in water protected areas. The decision was welcomed by the Greens Slovenia party, and by environmentalists, who however also want the other contentious provision removed.

European Parliament Approves CETA
The European Parliament has given its agreement for the implementation of the trade agreement with Canada.
European MPs supported CETA with a majority of nearly 60%. The groups of the EPP, the Liberals and the Conservatives voted for the agreement on free trade and investments.

BELGRADE - The Greens of Serbia voiced concern over the lack of environmental policy in the expose of Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, and noted that renewables are the only way toward Serbia's sustainable energy security, and that the establishment of an environment ministry would create 10,000 jobs and bring big investments.
