UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay paid a visit to a Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) photo exhibition arranged in the UNESCO building in Paris, presenting, to the international community, the work of the academy on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of its foundation, BNR reported.

From 24 May to 30 June, residents and guests of Sofia will be able to see two of the most emblematic objects of Bulgarian history - the sword of Khan Kubrat and the ring with his monogram, which are stored at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay discussed the cooperation between Bulgaria and the world organization.

Today the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Culture and Media Vezhdi Rashidov welcomed the UNESCO Director- General Audrey Azoulay in Sofia. He shared the idea that the Bulgarian St. Stephen's Iron Church in Istanbul should be included in the World Heritage List of the organization.

Bulgaria was under pressure Monday to find the killer of a television journalist whose brutal murder sparked international condemnation, as mourners thronged candlelight vigils in the capital Sofia and the northern town of Ruse where she was killed.

Bulgarian animator and artist Theodor Ushev, who works in Canada, was awarded the Order of the Cavalier of Arts and Culture of the French Ministry of Culture. The nomination was signed by former Culture Minister Audrey Azoulay before taking the post of UNESCO President.
